Feather
MSRP: $650
3.7 stars (3 reviews)Bicycling Review
Issue: Apr 2010
Page: 116 Editorial Review
VERSATILE: Unlike dedicated track racers, which are at their best making only left-hand turns on a smooth velodrome surface, the Feather is more of a fixed-gear road bike that can also be ridden on a track. It's suited to urban commuting thanks to a rear brake, slacker head angle, lower bottom bracket and two sets of bottle bosses. Plus, the butted steel frame will ride smoothly over less-than-perfect surfaces.
CHOICES: Unlike most bikes, which are available in one or two colors, the Feather can be had in four different hues. Reader Reviews
Average Reader Review: Review By NH, Rides for Transportation:The feather is a very basic bike with a mushy ride. For about $650 you get a heavy cro-mo frame (a feather this is not!), lax frame geometry that is not particularly responsive, and generally low quality parts. I compare this to a Reynolds 531 peugeot and a Columbus SL single speed bike. Swapped my single speed with a friend's Feather for about a week here in SF. Despite similar weights between my single speed and this bike, this felt "mushy" with a frame that was less compliant, responsive, and rough than my bike. This bike looks great-- pearl paint job, matching wheels, and aero seat post and some shiny cranks. But don't be fooled this is just shine, not quality. Ask your friend who knows about bike to help you find a bike on craigslist-- for $650 you can get a steel bike from the 70-80's with plenty of character, first world origins, and ride that is much more pleasurable while still having money left over. (Report Abuse) Review By Maynard, Rides for Transportation:I've had a Feather for about half a year now and I've been incredibly happy with it. I bike to work everyday (~5 miles from Brooklyn to Manhattan) and have found it to be a superb city bike. It is light enough to carry up a few flights of stairs without any trouble and I am able to fly by the clunkers on bridge every morning. I've also gotten more than my share of complements on the styling as well, it definitely looks as clean as it rides. (Report Abuse) Review By Benjamin, Rides for Fitness:Every picture I've seen of the Fuji Feather, and every LBS I've talked to indicates that the Fuji Feather does NOT come with two sets of water bottle bosses. It doesn't come with any, despite Fuji and every other online dealer advertising so...Along with Bicycling.com... (Report Abuse)
